Innate immunity gene expression profiles in conjunctival membrane biopsies from Amazonian buffalo

چکیده

ABSTRACT Domestic buffalo production plays an economically important role in the Brazilian Amazon, but they are susceptible to many diseases favored by tropical climate and annually flooded habitats, including ocular diseases. In this context, it is select genotypes that maximize innate immunity Amazonian herds. We aimed characterise, for first time, gene expression profiles of immune system conjunctival membrane buffalo. Ocular tissue samples were collected from 60 clinically healthy slaughtered animals northern state Amapá. The histologically processed classification into three groups according quantitative degree lymphoid associated with conjunctiva (discrete, G1; slight, G2; moderate, G3 presence tissue). RT-PCR was used quantify inflammatory cytokine (IL6, IL10, TNFA, IFNG), Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), Defensin beta 110 (DEFB110), relative endogenous GAPDH gene. G1 presented low IL6, DEFB110, while G2 exhibited high IFNG, TLR4. All showed all tested genes. These results suggest a greater resistance pathogenic microorganisms buffalos group, proportion may be related individuals.

Gene Expression Profiles from Needle Biopsies Provide Useful Signatures of Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinomas

Gene expression profiles from DNA microarrays can provide molecular signatures that improve tumor classification, prognosis, and treatment options. While much of this work has focused on isolation of RNA from the resected tumor, fewer studies have utilized RNA from fine needle aspirates (FNA). In this pilot study we examined whether the gene signatures obtained from FNA samples would correlate ...

Gene expression analysis in renal biopsies.

Fine needle kidney biopsy with subsequent analysis of the tissue core by light microscopy and immunhistology is currently the diagnostic gold standard in nephrology [1]. The addition of immunofluorescence and electron microscopic techniques into routine biopsy processing enabled a further refinement of the diagnostic categories used [2]. Despite recent developments in molecular biology most int...

Extracting Global Structure from Gene Expression Profiles

We have developed a program, GENECUT, for analysing datasets from gene expression profiling. GENECUT is based on a pairwise clustering method known as Normalized Cut [Shi and Malik, 1997]. GENECUT extracts global structures by progressively partitioning datasets into well-balanced groups, performing an intuitive k-way partitioning at each stage in contrast to commonly used 2-way partitioning sc...
